Artist Statement:
In honor of the ancient Japanese folklore, “Tale of The Bamboo Cutter”. Inspired by the Director’s Statement for the film, “The Tale of The Princess Kaguya” by Isao Takahata. In the statement he describes an unproduced prologue where we see the king and the princess talking before she is sent from the moon to the earth. However, the princess is not paying attention and instead looks happily down upon the land…
