When Xerxes demands that King Manok hand over his weapons, the chicken king stands firm and unyielding with his spear ready for battle and shield in hand. With his powerful and formidable spear stance, King Manok is ready to defend his kingdom and people, uttering the iconic words of Leonidas: “Come and take them!”
The diorama base features weathered sandy rock and bear the ancient Greek phrase “Molon Labe” engraved on its frontal side, serving as a fitting backdrop to King Manok’s fierce and proud warrior spirit. The words, meaning “come and take,” symbolize the unyielding spirit of resistance that King Manok embodies, inspiring his people to never back down in the face of adversity. Long live King Manok, the chicken king of the Spartans!
